Essentials of Discoverability: Part 2

Agenda:

Discoverability: UI Design, Usability best practices, user adoption, discoverability, GUI best practices

Users are forced to find features and discover functionality. Users don’t do this very well. When things are difficult to find they become difficult to discover, resulting in discoverability issues. How users explore and discover key features and functions of your product, application or website can make or break a positive user experience.

Topic:
Discoverability is one of the most important user experience design goals, yet one of the most difficult to master. The biggest symptom of users glossing over, missing or ignoring valuable design features is poor discoverability. Since 'discoverability behavior' is known to be something users do not do, how can you make sure you discover-proof your design?

How can you make your website, web application or product more discoverable? What happens if you do and what happens if you don’t? In this seminar we will explore discoverability and solutions to overcoming discoverability problems. We will uncover why for example users don't go looking for your menus or controls, and what to do about it. In this seminar you will build a Discoverability Plan and come away with practical strategies to tackle discoverability- everyone's biggest user adoption challenge.
